Nowadays

A contest photo is organized to offer a platform for photographers to prove their artistic ability. Participating in such a contest gives opportunity for fellow photographers to meet and share their experiences. A contest photo motivates potential photographers to display their creativity and independency, thus promoting originality, quality and encouraging photographers to share their art in a fun and rewarding way. Contest photo can be organized by photography clubs, distributors of camera equipment, book publishers, universities, community clubs, etc.

Rewards

Through a contest photo, a participant can derive many benefits. Many prizes are given away like cash, trophies, product vouchers and opportunities to expose participant's works even going abroad for photography assignments. Many types of people can benefit by participating in a contest photo. For example, someone who loves taking nice and pretty pictures wherever he goes just for pleasure can express himself through such a contest and touch people's lives through his pictures.

On the other hand, the organizers also receive lots of rewards through this contest photo. One of the main benefits will be the copyright on the participants' photos which are very valuable because they can be used for photo exhibition or even sold to photography lovers. More-over, the entry fee paid by the candidates is another source of revenue.

Cost

To participate in a contest photo, one needs to have some good equipment like camera bodies, lenses and photographic films. Otherwise, one can invest in a good digital camera which is less expensive compared to a traditional one. The organizers also have many expenses to do in terms of finding money for all the different prizes they offer so as to attract as many participants possible. All the publicity costs to advertise the contest photo in newspapers, magazines & on airwaves.

Overall

It's a wonderful and enriching experience to be able to get an entry to take part in a contest photo. It brings so much satisfaction when the judges select your picture to participate in the contest. That's why; you need to follow all the rules and regulations laid down by the organizers so as to be part of the contest photo.
